Psalm 13 notes
Posted in Psalms on May 19, 2009 by jimbrooksPsalm 13 is one in which every follower of Christ will live in several times throughout life. The book of Psalms gives us the whole gamet of human experience and emotion; the Psalms are true to life. Sometimes we will go through difficult times of life but will experience God’s peace and be untroubled (Psalm 4:8). Other times, our troubles will cause us mental anguish, physical problems, an unsettled spirit, and we will wonder if we have been abandoned by the Lord. This is Psalm 13. These are the words of a tortured soul. But even when in turmoil, we are still to cry out to God and put our trust in Him. Click here to access the notes to Psalm 13.
Psalm 11 notes
Posted in Psalms on May 5, 2009 by jimbrooksPsalm 11 is one that every follower of Christ will live in throughout their days on this earth. When troublesome times come we have a choice to make: Will we retreat from Christ or find our refuge in Him? There are no middle options. This is a psalm that shows the Lord loves those who find their security in Him and hates those who persecute His people. Click here to access the notes to Psalm 11.
Psalm 12 notes

Esther 3
Posted in Esther on May 5, 2009 by jimbrooksEsther 3 introduces the archenemy Haman. This is a chapter about hate, pride and stubbornness on the part of Mordecai and Haman. It is also a good lesson on the fact of God’s providence. Click here to listen to the sermon on Esther 3. Click here to access the additional material that did not make it into the sermon.
Psalm 10 notes
Posted in Psalms on April 23, 2009 by jimbrooksPsalm 10 gives us a character sketch of the wicked. As the Lord shows patience, they become more brazen in their words and actions against the Lord and His people. As this psalm reminds us, however, the Lord is their judge and they will have to give an account to Him. Click here to access the notes to Psalm 10.
